Reading

Little black things

That day was one of those days when John didn’t know what to do, so he grabbed the paper from his inspiration box. It stayed “Library” on it and John went there, although he wasn’t in the mood to read anything. He borrowed a thick, old book with strange covers and went back home. He put it on his bedside table, fetched a cup of tea and opened the book. Suddenly, while he was opening the book, something strange flew out of it. They looked like tiny, black butterflies with shiny eyes and they were making strange sounds. John was shocked at first, but as nothing happened after that, he calmed down and started thinking, while the little butterflies were still standing and buzzing on the ceiling. After a while, he ran out of the room into the bathroom, but when he looked at the ceiling they were there again. John went to the living room and kitchen and they always followed him. He had to think smarter. This time when he returned to his room he immediately closed the door behind him, then he took sticky tape, stuck the open book on the ceiling and put a chair under it. When he opened the door the butterflies landed on the book. He jumped onto the chair and quickly closed it. The butterflies and the sound disappeared.

John could hear no one following him anymore and realized that he was safe at last.
